1/31/2007 10:11:00 AMAh, blogger. Once king of the blogosphere. Maybe future king also? I don't know, but I don't blog here anymore. I made the jump to livejournal back when that had a community full of my dear friends just a-writing-away. Nowadays my friend-list there seems to be on it's last legs, but still I toil onwards.
MY LIVEJOURNAL LIVEJOURNAL
Also, I put photos up on my flickr account.
MY FLICKR PHOTOS
Also, I have my own domain name where I fully intend to put interesting posts involving projects I make myself do. It's still getting itself together, but there's stuff there.

Also, I record a new song each day for you to listen to by calling 202-427-0633. Quality isn't job #1. Apologies.
Also, I am on myspace, friendster, consumating, digg, AIM, hotmail, yahoo, gmail, and so countless other online locales that I join then discard. I usually use the 'amigarad' ID, since it is my online signature. Hope to see you on the internet!

This week felt like a weekend because I went to a show, had dinner with friends, and hung-out at an art-show. It's really been a very social week, making it almost like a weekend, except I have to work all day, which means that I feel antsy because I don't get some all-important down-time to sit around wasting my youth on things I won't remember when I'm old. Maybe I WILL have vivid video game memories on my deathbed. Maybe each of my lives will flash before my eyes. Maybe it'll be one looong, boring flash.
fun night
Whatever the case, Monday night I saw Andrew WK play at the Black Cat. The show was awesome, I partied until I almost puked, which is arguably better than partying until you actually puke, regardless of the opinions of mr. WK. I took a bunch of pictures and the staff of the venue asked me to control the Flash on my camera, but that was fine because the show was over at that point. If you can go see him, please do so.
No, It's pot-skill
Wednesday night was a put-luck at Chad's apartment, which will soon be Kevin and Erica's apartment, and that was goodtimes as well. It was the basic McDonald's formula of food, folks, and fun, although things got a little rocky at the end when Erica and I had a minor disturbance in our collective force and had to go discuss it, but what is a rose without it's trivial thorns? A smooth stemmed rose that doesn't prick your finger when you touch it? I don't know, maybe the thorns keep predators from chowing down on those tasty rose petals? In closing, we all ate too much.
avoiding fartsy
Last night was Melanie's art-show-opening at DC-CD in the city. We headed down there and drank wine and talked to people and looked at the art and fulfilled all requirements of Art-opening-patrons. If you're in the DC area, go check out her stuff, it's in the way-back of the store against the back-right wall. The low-point for me was when the show was ending and I decided I'd go try to buy the new Eazy-E album/DVD/PCVideoGame I had seen when I came in, only to find that someone had stolen it while I was mulling over whether it was worth my while (and my $25) or not. We capped the night off with a trip to Ben's Chili Bowl, even though my stomach had assumed the dinner window was long gone and I didn't need it. As we all know, I eat without reason.
bring it all back to you
My week was like a weekend because I saw Andrew WK, went to a pot--luck, and attended an art-show opening. As a resut I am now looking forward to my real-actual-factual weekend as a time to relax and do things which have no merit whatsoever. The last couple lines of a 5-paragraph essay are always the hardest for me. But now they are done.

Today at the local burrito chain, the cashier asked me if I was a 'designer' and I wasn't sure what to make of it. I was wearing a bright green shirt, but was he complimenting my fashion sense or questioning my masculinity? Regardless, I was flattered. I told him I worked for a cell-company and he said "OH, in Research and Development?" and I said no, but when I left I wondered if I gave off some sort of aire of creativity or if it's just the green shirt?

Holy crap!
It's the day everyone dreads... The day your Mom turns up in the Onion. I must say, It's probably one of the tamer articles she could have wound up int, and it's certainly not one of the funny ones you'd actually show to people, but sure enough, my Mom is in this week's Onion.
Here it is reprinted. They took my mom's name, I can reprint it, that's legal, right?
"Loft Discussed At Loft Party
CHICAGO— Guests at David and Jill Holman's loft party last Saturday spent the bulk of the four-hour affair discussing various aspects of the loft, including its location, square footage, rent, division of space, acoustics, and previous use. "So it's not too cold in the winter?" guest Gail Shaughnessy asked at the two-hour mark of the loft-centric gathering. "It seems like heating bills would be a lot with the high ceiling."
They must've drugged her. I don't know how she ended up in Chicago. I need to have a talk with her.

YEsterday was the big day! 100 days after purchase and activation, I finally got the Pikachu virtual pet to congratulate me on taking 1-million steps. The Pika is a pedometer, and counts your steps, but probably half of what was on that pika was just from me shaking the thing as I drove around for work. We had 2 previous pikachus whose batteries died before making it this far, but last night Pikachu held up a sign saying "Congratulations! 1,000,000!" and played a brand-new alarm song over and over, and that made it all worth while. No longer do I have to make sure my shirt isn't riding up to show the twin pikachu virtual pets strapped to my belt while I'm at work. I can now walk around a free man, free from the tyranny of Pikachu. It's a beautiful world. For me.
My Own April Fools
The only reason I know that it was April Fool's day yesterday is because, while I was waiting for the 11pm episode of Star Trek: TNG to come on, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin pulled an April Fool's joke on the head of the WWF by pulling out of Smackdown at the last minute so he could be in RAW. He then slammed the guy on the canvas. It was intense. Noone else that I knew did anything for the 'holiday' except all of the fools in college park and their rioting over basketball. One more reason for me to dislike sports I guess.

These old bones can't ramble on and on like they used to. I'm burning a bunch of photos (Joel's first Digital Camera Collection Vol. I) onto CD and finding so many photos of me that I'd like to edit. The double chin, the failing hairline, the shiny thing inside my nostrils, and other such things that noone notices until time is frozen and viewed on the big 17" screen. Well, I usually don't notice, I can't speak for the rest of america which has been diligently acknowledging and chronicling my flaws since puberty because that's when you're "legal". Oh well. Thanks for noticing me.
The blurry lines between Irony and reality
I was in a dork-store today (that's what we dorks call comics,RPG,and Card stores in an effort to reclaim the word 'dork' from a misodorkist society) and talking with the guy behind the counter about the RPG Video game I'm playing and I paused and internally reflected at how sweet that moment in my life was. It was a funny/stereotypical situation but simultaneously it was exactly what I wanted to be doing at that point in time. In reality it's not funny, it's just the way things are, and that's a good thing. I'm confused.
