Spreading Holiday Legs

The new animation to the left is meant to celebrate the magic of the winter season with a farcical look at my life. Obviously I don't actually stand in a field in a short sleeved shirt, waving frantically while it snows like crazy, but imagine if I did. Wouldn't that be hilarious? This one has less flaws than the rainbow one, no sound, and too many snowflakes. Trust me that I had (and have) bigger plans for this, but my work, like the channel 2 news team, comes in spurts. I'm out tomorrow, heading for Pittsburgh, so enjoy this animation many, many, times during the interim, and I'll be back soon as can be. For fun, you can count the snow-flakes, or notice the subtle way that some of them go behind my body and some stay in front. That's the attention to detail that I'm willing to put into this crap so that you get the most out of your cyber-experience.

Yule be sorry

I just wanted to use that as a subject-title.

Captain's Yule Log

Ditto for the above.

Yule Brenner

Mega-dittos, Rush.

Yes, I made this, if this means the crappy Flash animation to the left. It's still not totally perfect, and that's a blemish on my soul that I'll have to endure for a while since I'm leaving town tomorrow for Pittsburgh and a family wedding/christmas extravaganza. The house is all cleaned up and ready for my parents to come by tomorrow, and now I'm just ready to sleep for a while. I doubt I'll get another chance to write until after christmas, so that's when you'll hear all the hott stuff that my family bought me. I'll be pretty surprised myself, since I am notoriously hard to shop for. I don't have a slew of interests and that which I DO like I usually buy on my own, leaving everyone else up-the-creak, so-to-speak.

Heartfelt Fart Hell

I had a big plan to make cards for all my friends and send them something special this year to let them know just what I felt about them, but I ran out of time. So, I'll do it here:

"You are so important to me and my life. You've made such an impact on me and I truly value you as both a person and a mentor. You nurture my soul from behind."

OK, I had no idea where I was going with that.

introduction to the 'switch' operator

switch(x):
case(x=christ){ /*when x="christ" */
println "merry [x]mas"; /*Send tidings of holiday cheer to user */
break;} /*then exit the subroutine. */
default{ /*otherwise...*/
println "screw off!"; /* convey hostility toawrds the user*/
break;} /*then exit the subroutine. */

run.

screw off!

Avalanche or Roadblock

Time hates me. It just keeps running away and doesn't let me enjoy it. I don't know where it hides from me, but it does a good job, because I sure can't find any of it. That explains why I haven't fixed up my afore-mentioned Flash project, but it's not like I wasn't doing anything at all in the interim since I last unloaded text here.Erica and I spent most of yesterday cleaning up the house in anxious anticipation of Kevin's return and Gretchen(my sister)'s arrival. Stayed up late cleaning, then woke up kindof early (9am, c'mon I'm unemployed!) and waited for everything to fall into place.
"And fall it did!"
Around 11am, Kevin showed up, super-tired and with an Allen Bergendahl in-tow, and then my sister arrived with her friend Jordan. Allen had gone home to rest up for work in 5 hours after driving all night to get here, and Jordan soon left to drive down towards Florida, completing a mysterious cycle of nature involving the constant interchange of bodies between Florida and DC. Then, as we got re-acquainted with the two recent-arrivals, the sky started dropping white flakey tufts of snow. We spent the afternoon down in Georgetown and it continued to snow the whole time we were down there. It was a good feeling, to be out and about while the snow was falling. Floridians have every right to be jealous.

Side effect or drug trip
I ate chili for dinner the past two nights, because Erica made some really good stuff last night and the leftovers fed us all tonight as well. Now I'm feeling a bit hot in the head and I have a slight headache, but I don't think it's related. I think it's more the use of the heating system here in the house which is slow acting which means you often over compensate, plus all the cleaning last night stirred up some dust and I think my body hates dust, just like time hates me. The circle is complete.
