Time stood still

I certainly didn't mean to not blog for days after writing the inspirational "Blog it Up!" song, but it happened. I was busy, and blogger was slow, so when I would try to get on to blog, I got bored and stopped. Since then I've been preparing for my bday which is tomorrow and tonight is the party. It's not going to be of McGowan-proportions, but it'll be fun nonetheless. We're going out to get some chinese then coming back here for cake and drink and fun. I'll try to let you know how it goes.

My turn for shame

I'm just going to say it, though it pains me to do so:
I bought a "...For Dummies" book.

I'm certainly not proud of it, but it was cheap and it had some basic javascript stuff in it that I want to make use of in some upcoming projects. I could've gotten a more expensive, more thorough reference, but I figured this would give me the building blocks without such a large investment. The Java book I got was nice but it was so wordy and complete that I couldn't concentrate on reading it s traight through, it was more a reference for those with formal training. If I make something as cool as I have planned, it'll all be worth it.But, until then, I'm a dummy.

Return of the Mack

Kevin is back in DC. Sure he's more emo than before, but he's still mean and onery and he still finds time to call me a faggot. It's good to have him back.

The morning after

The best way to ring in the New Year is to be making 2 pots of Pasta-roni and then look at your watch an notice that it's 12:03am, and tell the rest of the house that is the case. But, we turned on the TV and caught the last 30 seconds of the countdown and then I ran outside and yelled "cup o' noodles!" because there was a huge cup-o-noodles right below the ball when it dropped and I wanted to let the ad-execs know that their ploy was effective. All ad-execs seem to have a ploy, don't they? After I yelled that, someone down the street when "Whaaaaa-oooooo!!!" and firecrackers went off and the people in my house thought I got shot, but I didn't. I came inside and we went about the rest of our night.Points of interest included:

1. Allen getting "Skullsplitter" beer from E and me and putting his face on the body of the nordic-man on the label.
2. Erica going into shock when we received "Hey you! PIkachu!" from Kevin, Allen, and Gleen.
3. Eating a "Whack and eat" chocolate orange.
4. Calling information to get a hold of Kevin in Orlando.
5. Playing Zobmondo "That crazy 'would you rather' game!".
6. Drawing hilarious comics depicting the themes of Kevin, innuendos, dogs, and Angela Landsbury.
7. Listening to "Hoes with Attitudes" on and off throughout the night.

THere was more but I can't chronicle EVERYTHING.

...take note of Brent and Kevin's current blogs which both express shame on their use of a subject title they are not proud of. Interesting....

hold up, it is.

It's new years eve, there is no plan. Glen, Allen, Jessi, Erica, and I are hanging out watching TV with no idea what is going down over the next 3 hours. I'd be content with nothing, in that I won't beat myself up if we just chill and enjoy the time we have. 2000 was hott, I worked my way through over-half of it and I spent about 4 months unemployed and that and dating Erica over the past year have made this one probably the most consistently happy one of my living so far. It's been good, the next will be better. I'll let you know what happens, but I hope you have fun on your own. Enjoy the song to the left, once more for before the end of the real millenium.
