1/13/2001 02:42:00 AMBar
We went to a bar tonight, me and the boys (cue the song "me and the boys" which was used in the soundtrack for Shakes the Clown), and we drank a good bit. It was fun to hang with the guys in a bar, even if it was the whitest bar on U street. Glen got hit on by an older woman who started off making fun of kevin's glasses. We walked there which was good because I need exercise so these legs don't fall off.
In other news I'm still working on my Virtual Joel and I did probably 90% of tyhe work on him two days ago but I'm not ready to post it yet because it still lacks any sort of purpose. I want to make something that people will want to visit, not that people visit once because they're my friends. I need to add substance. That or porno.
1/12/2001 02:16:00 AMThe hole in my heart that goes all the way to china
I miss Erica. She's down in Roanoke, and I'm here. She'll be back, and it's no big deal, but it is great to have her around. With that out of the way, I am tired. I have been staying up late working on Web-stuff and bloggin' and chattin' and wasting time wherever I can. I made a CD today for the CD xchange with the Florida kids and it took forever, and I ruined a few of Kevin's CDs/Labels, but it came out looking pretty good, and that was the sweetest plum. The only trouble is I filled it up with 42 songs and noone is going to listen to it all the way through. Some of the best albums ever created (In my mind) are really long.
Examples:
Minutemen: Double Nickels on the Dime (40 songs?)
Frank Black: Teenager of the Year (22 songs)
Essential or Unessential Schlong (37+ songs)
THat's just a few, but I'm sure you can think up some on your own, and you could probably convince me that there are good short albums too (Didjits' Little Miss Carriage EP for example) but my point is that I like these albums and I listen to them all the way through and you would be wise to check them out. So, the recipient of my CD gets 42 songs AND 11-12 pictures of me. That's one hell of a deal.
Bedtime for Boney
I have a horribly dull headache and a dull hunger as well. They're dreadful because they don't impair me from doing anything but enjoying my life.
1/11/2001 03:30:00 AMRedesigner? I hardly know her!
Whew, seems like the whole internet has caught redesign fever, and while my look is slightly different, I assure you it's only due to a natural growing process and not just some attempt to hop on the redesign band-wagon, HONEST! Actually, I've been improving on VJ there for a while and things are looking much better. Earlier, Allen and Kevin walked in on me while I was working on VJ and they got a preview. I wasn't really anxious to show it off because there was so much more work to be done and I still had some crappy looking stuff in there. It was sortof the equivaalent of someone walking in when you're got your pants around your ankles and you try to tell them that it's cold out or you haven't put on your new-penis, but it's too late for discussion.
Time for bed, I'm poop.
1/09/2001 12:57:00 PMBeta Teste
To the left is the new VIrtual Joel version 0.5 beta. He's got a crappy looking environment and he does crappy things, but he DOES exist and I wanted the world to know. Maybe there will be future versions which exploit new wild skills I acquire in Flash. This one just makes use of the "TellTarget" command. Unfortunately there are some bugs:
1. You can't perform the same command twice in a row.
2. The interface is bare-bones.
3. It's completely useless.
Enjoy!
As days go byyyy...
My birthday came and went and I got some great stuff. Especially thoughtful was my sister who sent me a heart-"warming" gift, a blanket a tea assortment, a mug, and a picture of she and I in the snow. THoughtful through and through. Another thoughtful gift was this delightful animation that Brent made for me. It's not for the faint of heart or those who don't want their pristine ideas about the sexuality of star-trek characters to be sullied. If Mom and Dad are reading this, I don't know WHO did it, I found it on the internet and I'm appalled!
Wild plans can't be broken
As always I have new things planned and I really hope to get to them. THe idea of working is steadily becoming more realistic, now that Allen is interviewing for a job (doing Flash no-less!) and Kevin is at a temping-interview right now. I'm still having fun learning new things though, and when I do get a job it had better be awesome.OR ELSE!
For those who miss the ol' "Blogitup" animation, I'll archive it somewhere eventually. Until then, spend your days remembering the good times you had with it, and how it brought you closer to others as you sent them links to it. All in a days work....
1/07/2001 02:31:00 AMSpillin' and killin'
Birthday went off without a hitch. 9 people for dinner and then a bunch showed up later as an afterthought. PLenty of drinking and talking and drinking "The Picard" (Grand Marnier and Earl Grey Tea). Apparently plenty of sentence fragments too. Anyways, it was a good birthday, though it flew right by. Glen spilled on the floor here in the computer room.
Future Update
If only you guys could see in my mind and know what I had planned for this website in the future. You'd be real let down when the future actually got here, just like I am. Meanwhile, check out the new link from my eyes on the main page. Pro-photos. You'll luv 'em.
See ya!
PS. if you're seeing this, you're lucky. Geocities is hiding all my good material from the masses. Generous bastards.
PPS. Kevin just yelled "Allen's in his undershorts!".
