Checks, Personal

My Star Trek Checks arrived! Now I can cut all my friends checks for 1-cent with a stunning rendition on them of, who else? Whoopi Goldberg? That's right, I pried open the box when it arrived and flipped through them like this:

"Ah, a picture of the USS Enterprise 1701D, how charming..."
"Ooh! And there's Picard, I'm saving that one for something special!"
"Hmm, Beverly Crusher? I suppose that makes sense, but she's totally going towards the gas bill."
"Wait, the next 2 are ALSO beverly Crusher? Was there some sort of mistake? I guess that covers ALL of my utilities..."
"Tasha Yar? she died in like the second season, why is she here?"
"Correction: why is she here three times in a row?"
"GUINAN? Whoopi Goldberg's recurring guest-star-appearance gets her own check? Her own FOUR checks in a row?"

At that point I was sortof outraged. Truth be told I knew which characters would be in the set, but I only got one Riker, one Worf(!), and one Deanna Troi, and sooooo many throwaway ones. I mean, Most of my checks go to people I won't mind passing off the crap ones on, but come-on!

Temporary Tantrum

Kevin found a photobooth, and apparently a 12-year-old boy along with it.

Fingertips... Fingertips.........

On the way in this morning I was listening to TMBG's "Apollo 18", the first album I bought on CD, I think. I had my mom grab me the tape of it from Camelot on her way home from work, after seeing the video for "The Statue got Me High" on AL-TV. Then I got really into theymightbegiants, and listened to this particular album nonstop for a good while. There are plenty of memories attached to it, for me, but some in particular have to do with the 20-or-so mini-songs that make up the song "Fingertips" Each mini-song is it's own track and it's meant to provide a quick break between songs when you listen to the CD version using the random function. To this day it's the only CD I know of that capitalizes on that particular function. Anyway, on to the memories in question... One song says "Please pass the Milk please" Over and over again in a creepy-overly-happy fashion, and one day while driving through the Taco Bell Drive-through, I was listening to that track over and over again on repeat. I don't think anyone working there noticed but everyone in the car with me was crackin' up. Those are the kindof dumb things you do when you're me. There's another mini-song on the album which repeats the line "I'm having a heart-attack" which was unfortunately un-noticed by me while driving a friend around whose dad had just passed of a heart-problem. I can be pretty insensitive when I don't mean to be. OK, now that awful feces-related posting isn't the first thing you see when you come here. My job is done.
