bad birthday, no cake for you

Well, I'm really not too stoked about my birthday this year. I didn't plan much of anything to do for it and it's wedged right after xmas/new years, and right before Jen and Erica's Birthdays. To get things rolling, we had a disastrous D+D session last night, which ended on a sour note and left us all wondering when we'll play again. I'm frustrated and saddened by what happened, and that feeling has followed me through to today. Ugh.

What does this world need, but a good laugh?

Neil hamburger is the peoples' comedian. His Jokes are not funny, but he is. A Friend had a theory about using Neil Hamburger as a litmus test to determine whether a girlfriend was worth having, and it makes sense to me. If they say something like "I get it, it's just not funny", then you've got a bad apple in the bunch. He's not a bad comedian, but someone who's good at being a bad comedian. The best part of each album seems to be the silence after a joke is completed, and after a couple of seconds it's your laugh that echos out as the lone soul unable to hold-out any longer as your funny-bone is tickled not by the joke, but by the situation. I can't explain why I like it so much, so maybe it's like Apple Jacks.

Corrections, Errata, Etc

My parents tell me that there are more than 3-4 floorplans in the Sabal Point arsenal, and that they actually do a lot of custom floor-plans. To that I reply: "Whatever!".

Family Funtimes

Erica and I are back in Maryland after a short weeklong trip to Orlando. It was an amazingly fun time in which I did just about everything I could have hoped to do, but still didn't manage to see everyone I wanted to. If you missed me, blame yourself for not reading this weblog and calling me, or blame OBL. Highlights of the trip include Sci-Fi City having everything in the storeat 25% off. Erica and I probably spent about $170 in dork stores in one day, but some of it was for gifts which justifies it. We both have birthdays in January, so December and January run together into a big "treat yourself" window into which the cash flows like something fluid-like through something window-like.

LAzy Jones

I've gotten real bad with the web-loggin' lately. THis can be seen in the poorly constructed metaphor of the previous paragraph and the use of only one "highlight" for the trip to Florida. Plenty more fun stuff happened, but ***** That's as far as I got before getting kicked off AOL the other night. My lifestyle has changed a lot since I first began keeping this blog, and I like it but I feel that it has gotten as far as it can go in this crazy life, and I should set it free for fear of me disliking it. I want to change the format and make it more content oriented. I want to write articles and put pictures and music up, rather than spout off about my day. It's a new year, and time for a new Joel's blog. Werd.
