Call me up

I've been on call all week, and it sortof blows. I've been called in 3 nights so far, and I'm expecting to be called in tonight too. I go out into the field for about 3 hours, then arrive home around 3-4am, and I expected it to happen but I sortof thought I'd have more warning unless it was an emergency, but all the stuff I've been doing has been confirming the results of testing and other pre-planned changes to the system. Apparently this week has been unusual and there usually IS good communication between the switch and the RF dudes, but not this week.

Blowin' Up

Even with all the hub-bub of being on call, I've still managed to get proper amounts of sleep and had a good little birthday mexican feast. Erica's been gone since Wednesday and that's probably for the best since I keep leaving in the middle of the night. Today, Kevin and Erica (HIS girlfriend) are coming up here to hang out, maybe hit some disc-golf, maybe hit some thrift-stores, and maybe just live life to the largest extent possible. Tonight is some "Vegetable Garden" with Matt and Melanie, then a bar with Becky, then off to work I go! Yeah!

I have needs

Anyone have a good recommendation for a car for me? I'm going to be sinking my proverbial Deez into a newer one soon and I'd like to hear your input. I'm thinking 4-door and comfortable, good gas-mileage, reliable, and not prone to bursting into flames. I also want it to smell good and do linear algebra. Also, tell me what kindof digital camera to get, and tell me what I should do with the remaining 75% of my life. Help me out here.

Things are looking up

THe Birthday's looking better. I'm feeling better and today is a magic tournament at the dork-store with Dave and Erica, so what more could I need? Erica is leaving on Wednesday I'll miss her while she's gone for a week. This house is cold and the heater doesn't seem to do much of anything. Girard St, on the other hand, has space heaters coupled with their functional radiators AND a new stove and new fridge. If I could have forseen the landlord actually getting that stuff taken care of I.. Well.. I still would've had to move out, but boy does it class up that place. Anyways, Tomorrow's my real birthday, get your e-cards ready. Anyone got any suggestions on a Digital Camera for me? I want one that'll fit in my pocket but still give some degree of quality. If only the WWF Slam-Cam I bought at KayBee Toys for $20 actually worked, then I wouldn't be in this mess.

Baby Stories

I like to inclode a story in this thing whenever I can, so here's one: When I was a wee lad and my mom was pregnant with Jennifer (My sister 4 years younger than I), she tried to tactfully explain exactly what was going to happen. SHe compared childbirth to a chicken laying an egg. So, eventually I told someone "Mommy's going to Lay a Baby" and I got to hear about that story for years to come.

The good in everyone

Also, when my mom as away having a baby and I was left with my grandmother, I jumped from the fireplace onto the cat. I'm not really sure about the physics of it, whether I landed feet first or actually body-slammed it or what, but apparently it walked with a limp for a week after that and I remember thinking cats were mean because it would always scratch me, but this story always reminded me why. It makes me question whether people are inherently good or not. I know that the media can definitely impact the way someone acts though, because I put a tacck under my sister's booster chair after hearing the the line from "I've got that Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, Down in my heart" that goes "If the devil doesn't like it he can sit on a tack". Church is a bad influence.
